The Dream
Sojourn will teach the true gospel and so equip people to cope in the world.
We will:
- Provide a peaceful place for people to rest and encounter God
- Help enrich marriages and strengthen family bonds through different workshops.
- Teach and minister to youth in order to cultivate strong relationships with God and one another.
- Give back to the community through various channels.
The applications are endless:
- Day teaching retreats
- Week and weekend teaching retreats
- Marriage enrichment courses
- Art and health workshops
- Youth camps
- Youth holiday camps
- Church indaba’s
- Company conference / teambuilding / off site meeting
Sojourn will also serve as an off site communal workspace and we trust that this, along with other rental income, will finance / subsidise the ministry, making is totally self sufficient.

Retreats – a place to rest and connect with God
Psalm 46:10 – Be still and know that I am God
Teaching – A place to learn the true gospel and how to apply it to everyday life
Phillipians 4:9 – Whatever you have learned or received from me, or seen in me, put it into practise. And the God of peace will be with you.
Isaiah 61:1 – The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor.
Youth holiday camps – A safe place to teach children about Jesus.
Proverbs 22:6 – Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.
Counseling – A place to heal the pain and comfort the sorrows of those who need it.
Isaiah 61:1 – He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted ….. to comfort all that mourn
Community outreach – A place to give back to the community
James 1:27b to visit the orphans and widows in their trouble.
Art workshops – A place to exercise and use our God given talents.
Romans 12:6 – Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them.
1 Peter 4:10 – As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
Exercise and health workshops – A place to learn how to take care of our bodies
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
The Project
To date we have :
- Acquired and paid off the property
- Secured the perimeter
- Collected building materials and various other items
- Drawn up plans
- Built the community center foundations to floor level
- Raised just under 5% of the total funds needed
- Build the community center
- Build 8 additional rooms onto the existing house
- Renovate the existing house
- Landscape the gardens and put up a perimeter fence
- Build outbuildings – car ports, hut, prayer and art containers
