About us

Why Retreats?

There is such a need for people to unplug from the chaos of life and rest. Just BREATHE. Even Jesus told His disciples to break away and find rest. Many believe that a holiday – if ever taken – can fulfil that purpose. But RETREATS ARE DIFFERENT. A moment in God’s presence can refresh you more than a three week holiday can. I have never attended a retreat or teaching seminar, where I have not seen every person in attendance, transformed and equipped to tackle whatever life throws at them.

My Story:

At the lowest point in my life, when I had lost so much that I had literally given up, a very special couple sponsored me to attend a weekend ladies retreat. After sitting under sound teaching and learning biblical truths, it equipped me to deal with what I was facing and I can wholehartedly say that it literally saved my life.  Having first hand experience of the value of these breakaways and knowing the dire need for it today, I want to offer others the same opportunity. And so a DREAM was born.  

 

We cannot find God and He cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass – grows in silence. See the stars, the moon and the sun – how they move in silence – We need silence to be able to touch souls.

Vision and Mission

Vision:

To provide the perfect environment for all visitors to find peace and encounter God, irrespective of the reason for visiting.

Mission:

To glorify God by fulfilling His mandate to preach the Gospel and reach the world.

Being faithful stewards of all that is entrusted to us by applying diligence in all that we do, by positively influencing all who come into contact with Sojourn through applying a spirit of excellence.

Statement of Faith

  1. We believe the bible is inspired and empowered by God, infallible and authoritative.
  2. We believe in one eternal God who exists as three separate persons, The Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  3. We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life as He walked among men, demonstrated the authority and power of God in works and speech, died on the cross, rose from the dead on the third day, and is now seated at the right hand of God having accomplished all that is necessary for man’s salvation.
  4. We believe it is essential for man to repent of sin and by faith receive the finished work of Christ, by confessing Him as Lord with his mouth and believing in his heart, resulting in regeneration by the Holy Spirit
  5. We believe the Holy Spirit is continuing the work started at, Pentecost empowering believers to live a godly life and continue in all works of Jesus.
  6. We believe in the imminent return of Jesus and that those who have believed in Him will be resurrected to a heavenly dwelling in an incorruptible, body and those who do not believe will join Satan and his lost in everlasting punishment.
  7. We believe the true church is composed of all born-again believers in Christ, regardless of denominational affiliation.
  8. We believe all born-again believers have been commissioned to share the complete Gospel to all the world.
